The initial decisions made at an incident set the stage for success or failure. A company officer is usually the first on the scene and is tasked with making a quick assessment and often with limited resources! This seminar will prepare company officers to make sound strategic and tactical decisions.
Good decisions aren’t made by mistake. They come from good training and strong fundamentals. Your firefighters deserve a boss who will look out for their interest, keeping them from harms way. Don’t cheat them!
The Lead Instructor: Michael Prete, Assistant Chief, Montgomery Co. (MD) Fire-Rescue, (ret.)
Mike recently retired as the Assistant Fire Chief at Montgomery County (MD) Fire and Rescue Services. With over 35 years of experience, he served as the Executive Chief. In addition to his role directly relating to fire and rescue operations, he managed daily operational and administrative issues including budget, daily oversight for 1100 full time personnel. He served as a Safety Officer at the Pentagon site following the 9/11 attack. With national and state instructor certifications, he served as an adjunct instructor for the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute, and Anne Arundel Community College. He currently is a lead instructor for Task Force 1, Inc.
