Response To The Active Shooter and Mass Violence Incidents

We’ve reached a time and place within our society where the question is no longer if this will occur but rather when it will occur. We must employ best practices to protect our own while reaching critically wounded victims sooner for a greater chance of survival. This program will range through response, tactics, and the integration of Fire, EMS and Law Enforcement.
Some of the topics: Review of Mass Casualty Incidents, Tools & resources, Casualty collection, Force protection and entry groups Utilization of ballistic gear, ICS for Active Shooter Incidents, Case studies with discussion and Command staff roundtable.
Lead Instructor Batt. Chief John McLoughlin Fort Lauderdale (FL) Fire-Rescue John is a 20 year veteran of the fire service, the last 17 in Fort Lauderdale (FL) Fire – Rescue most recently as an Operations Battalion Chief and the Chief of Training. Chief McLoughlin holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Saint Thomas University and a Masters Degree from the University of Miami. He has been a Fire Service Instructor for 15 years, teaching firefighting, Special Operations, and EMS. John has traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad has served as a private contractor for the Department of Defense. He is Rescue Specialist on USAR Florida Task Force 2. He has been deployed several times including the Haiti Earthquake.
