Kevin Mochen
Kevin has 43 years of experience
in the fire service. The majority of his career was as a Deputy Fire Chief
of the Boston Fire Department and recently retired as Chief of Operations.
His multifaceted career included training, planning, prevention and administration.
He was the co-chairman of "Operations in the 21st Century". Chief
Mochen attended Massachusetts Community College where he studied fire science.
Among his other duties he was a member of several promotional boards for
chief officers around the country and has served an an investigation for
"Line of Duty" deaths. Since retiring he as served as a facilitator or
emergency management exercises. |

Carlos Rodriguez
Carlos is a 21 year veteran
of the fire service, serving the Wichita, KS Fire Department. He is currently
holds the rank of Captain and is assigned to Engine 1 which covers the
hi rise district.
He was previously assigned
to E11. He has been involved with the probationary candidate academy since
2003.He also taught forcible entry to much of the midwest region . He also
had taught for Kanas Fire Rescue Training, National Fire Academy, IAFF
Hazmat/WMD Instructors, DoJ FBI Hazmat Program, Fools Of Oz, and is currently
serving as Vice Chair of the IFSTA Hazmat 1 st Edition Technician Validation
Committee. |

Sean O'Brien
Sean is assigned as a firefighter
with FDNY Tower Ladder 131 in Brooklyn. His career in the fire service
began in Old Bridge, NJ. Sean is trained in SOC Rescue Operations (Trench
Rescue, Confined Space, Rigging Operations). |

Jarod Blake
Jarod is a veteran of the
fire service since 1992. He is a Lieutenant with the FDNY, currently
assigned to the 15th Division in Brooklyn. As a firefighter he worked
in Ladder 19 located in the South Bronx section. Jarod's previous
experience extends from departments in NY, MD, VA and DC.He holds a BS
in Fire Science Management from University of Maryland, University College.
Jarod is state fire instructor for the Maryland Fire Rescue Institute.
He is a previous HOT instructor and speaker at the FDIC. |

Michael A. Burzachiello
Mike iscurrently assigned
as a firefighter with the City of Trenton NJ’s Rescue Co. 1. Prior to his
assignment to R1, he worked in Ladder 4, Engine 10, and Engine 6. Heis
a staff instructor with the Mercer County NJ Fire Academy. Before his appointment
to the Fire Department I served with the United States Navy onboard the
USS Enterprise from 1996-2000. Mike graduated with an AAS in Fire
Science from Mercer County Community College. Hecurrently working towards
his BA from Rider University with an expected graduation in 2011. |

Demetrios (Jim) Vlassopoulos
Jim began his fire service
career with the Springfield Township Volunteer Fire Company in Delaware
Co., PA in 1979. He is a 24-year member of the Washington,
D.C. Fire Department and has held the positions of firefighter, ladder
truck driver technician, sergeant, lieutenant, and captain and Battalion
Chief/ Jim is a member of the National Capital Region Type III Incident
Management Team where he is trained as a planning, logistics, and operations
section chief. He is a nationally certified Firefighter III, Fire
Instructor II, and Fire Officer II. Jim is currently the Deputy Fire
Chief/Chief Information Officer. |

Thomas Maddalone
A third generation firefighter,
Tom currently serves as a Captain with Burning Mountains Fire Protection
District, a combination fire department located in Garfield County, Colorado.
Captain Maddalone has extensive
structural and rescue experience and has over twelve years of wildland
firefighting experience with special emphasis in incident management, and
supervision.
Captain Maddalone serves
on the Northwest Colorado Incident Management Team and has served on the
Board of Directors for the Colorado State Firefighters Association.
He is currently enrolled
in the National Fire Academy’s Chief Officer Training Program. |

Mike Drennan
Mike is an 13 year veteran
in the FDNY. He has been assigned to L4, E54 and L-131. Mike is trained
in SOC Rescue Operations (Trench Rescue, Confined Space, Rigging Operations).
Prior work working at FDNY, Mike worked 9 years at NYPD. He is a Haz-Mat
Level 1 Technician and is part of the Decon Task Force. Currently, he is
a LT at Ladder 84. |
Colin
Sterr
Colin worked as a firefigther
in Tacoma, WA, before coming to New York. In Washington, Colin also worked
for Seattle Mountain Rescue, performing wilderness search and rescue in
the Seattle area performing many rescues on peaks all around Seattle. He
has extensive experience in rope rescue, confined space and trench rescue.
He was also a FEMA USAR Task Force as a rescue specialist. He currently
is assigned to Truck 131 in Brooklyn. |

Tony
Tricarico
Tony
recently retired as Captain at FDNY's Squad
252. He served as Captain at Ladder 101 and was chief in the Mt. Sinai
FD on Long Island, NY. Captain "Trix" instructs throughout the country,
is contributing editor to Firehouse Magazine and Firehouse.com. |

Philip Guercio
Division Chief Philip Guercio
(ret.) served 35 years in the Montgomery County (MD) Fire and Rescue Services.
Montgomery County, MD is immediately NW of Washington, DC and has a population
of 960,000 and contains a wide variety of structure types and densities.
For 20 years he served as
a firefighter, apparatus operator, command aid, company officer, and station
commander in the Silver Spring and Hillandale Fire Departments on the county’s
eastern side.
He has also served as a
Montgomery County Training Academy Instructor, Maryland Fire and Rescue
Institute Instructor, and several years as the Training Officer for Montgomery
County.
Subsequent to assignment
at the Training Academy in 1997, he returned to the eastern side of the
county as the Battalion 1 Chief and was later promoted to Assistant Chief
and assigned as one of the 24 hour Shift Operations Chiefs.
In 2003 he was promoted and
assigned as the Deputy/Division Chief of Operations. This position
required the management of fire, rescue, and EMS operations and the fire/rescue
911 communications center.
Approximately 900 career
and 600 operationally active volunteer personnel worked within the various
sections of the Operations Division.
Chief Guercio has AA degrees
in Education and Fire Service Technology and a BS in Fire Service Management
